COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute is the world’s leading independent research institute for information, training, quality assessment, research, and consulting relating to the Chinese outbound tourism market.
COTRI is a privately organised, independent institute registered in Germany. Besides the headquarter in Heide/Germany, a Chinese head office is based in Beijing and COTRI Country Partners are located all over the world.
COTRI was established in 2004 by its director Professor Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, a sinologist and tourism expert as well as a researcher with more than 30 years of business and academic experience in Chinese tourism. Merging scientific, cultural and industry knowledge, COTRI cooperates with most leading public and private sector tourism organisations in China and all over the world.
Edeluc is a COTRI Country Partner in Portugal since 2014.
The Portuguese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIL-C) was officially established in 1978 and was the first Portuguese institution that, in a systematic and persistent way, developed the economic and business relationship between Portugal, China and institutions and companies of both countries.
The chamber fosters the contacts between Portuguese and Chinese entities, promotes reciprocal investment, research and distributes information on the Chinese Market.
For the development of its activities, the Chamber has the support of ICEP (Portuguese Trade and Investment Institute) and its Delegation in China, Minho Industrial Association, Macau World Trade Center, CCPIT – China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and EDELUC with whom the Chamber has signed an Agreement of Cooperation in June 2006.
Between 2006 e 2009, EDELUC and Weifang EPZ were partners. This partnership was very important for EDELUC’s development, knowledge and experience in China, and it also made EDELUC increase its visibility and brand awareness in the Chinese market.
EDELUC owned the concession of 38 hectares at the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Weifang city, located in Shandong Province. The EPZ platform provided for the setting up of manufacture under extremely favorable investment conditions guaranteed by China’s top decision-making body – The State Council – and also brought together a set of physical characteristics and a package of tax incentives that made it a very attractive platform for installation companies with export vocation and seeking to internationalize.
Furthermore, Weifang offered qualified manpower, since about 100,000 inhabitants in the province worked in high-tech industries.
Edeluc managed and developed the supporting services and consultancy to the whole project.
